CHICAGO -- For the third consecutive season under head coach
Steve McClain, UIC and the Pyromaniacs, the official student fan organization of the Flames, invite all UIC students to the UIC Pavilion on Wednesday, Nov. 1 for the exclusive Student Preview Event.
When the doors to the Pavilion open at 5:30 p.m., the 2017-18 Flames will already be on the floor taking part in a full practice. Once the workout has completed at approximately 6 p.m., then there will be videos and introductions of the squad. Additionally, UIC students will have the chance to be paired up with one of the men's basketball team members for different shooting contests on the floor. There will also be a shootout for students with the chance to win an Xbox One and other great UIC prizes.
The Flames will take to the air to show off their skills in a highly-anticipated slam dunk showcase before McClain addresses the crowd and prepares students for what to expect during the upcoming season. At the conclusion of the Student Preview Event on the court, free pizza will be served to those in attendance.
"I know I speak for the players when I say that this is always one of the most fun events we have during the run up to the season," said McClain. "It's a great opportunity to connect with our peers on campus and let them know how important they are to what we do. We all look forward to coming together again this week."
The Preview is free for all UIC students. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
