Former UIC Flame, four-year starter and team captain, Jessica Miller has joined the Indiana Fever as an assistant coach, the team announced Tuesday.

It is Miller's first coaching position in the WNBA.  She had previously been with the Chicago Sky in a video coordinator/player development role.

Miller's name can still be found all over the Flames' record book.  During her tenure at UIC, which lasted from 2006 to 2010, she became the school's fourth leading scorer.  To date she holds sixth place on the all-time scoring list, and ranks seventh in career assists and field goals.  Miller is also in the top 10 in three pointers, field goals attempted, and steals.  She led the team in scoring in her sophomore, junior, and senior seasons.

She was selected to the Horizon League's All-Newcomer team following her freshman campaign, and earned second team All-Horizon League honors in each of her final three years.

Miller helped lead the Flames to the WNIT in 2007.  After graduating, she played professionally in Germany.  She won two league championships with DJK Brose Bamberg.

More information is available in the Indiana Fever press release.
