Ruvanna Campbell, UIC's all-time leading rebounder and second leading scorer, has signed with the Swiss team Helios VS Basket.
Campbell made the move after competing this past season with Hapoel Petah Tikva in the Israeli D1 league. She averaged 11.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game over her 18 games. Her rebounding mark was good for second in the league.
Helios added Campbell just in time for the Swiss League Finals, where despite Campbell's team-high 16 points, Helios lost Game 1 of the championship series to Fribourg. Game 2 will take place Wednesday. Helios has won the last five Swiss League titles.
Campbell was a two-time Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year and made the All-Horizon League first team in all three of her seasons at UIC. As a senior, she led the Horizon League and was fourth in the nation in rebounding (13.5 rpg), and was second in the conference in scoring (18.1 ppg), before embarking on her professional career.
