CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (7-12, 0-8 HL) will continue its road series by taking on the Horizon League's top contender in No. 22 Green Bay (17-2, 7-1 HL) on Friday, Jan. 26 inside the Kress Center. The Flames are seeking their first win against the Phoenix since 2010.
Starting Five
- Taylor Toney notched her third double-double of the season on Sunday (Jan. 21) against Northern Kentucky, with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
- Brittany Byrd led the Flames in scoring for the 11th time this season with 19 points against the Norse. Byrd has led UIC more times than any other player.
- Catera Etheridge matched her career-high five assists on Sunday, a mark that she had previously set against the Norse last season in the Horizon League Quarterfinals.
- Gabryelle Johnson is second in the Horizon League in offensive rebounds, averaging 3.7 offensive boards per game. Johnson actually has more offensive rebounds than defensive, recording 70 on the offensive side compared to 69 on the defensive.
- UIC is second in the Horizon League in offensive rebounds with 15.5 per game. The Flames have out-offensive rebounded their opponents in 16 of 19 games, including Sunday's loss at Northern Kentucky, with the Flames out-offensive rebounding the Norse by a margin of 19-16.

- UIC suffered a 61-53 overtime loss at Northern Kentucky on Sunday (Jan. 21) inside the BB&T Arena.
- The Flames led by as many as 19 late in the third quarter, but committed several costly turnovers in the fourth and overtime periods that led to their demise.
- UIC's best shooting came in the third quarter at 42.1 percent, compared to just 20 percent in the fourth, its worst quarter.
- NKU was held to just 8.3 percent in the second quarter, and 18.2 percent in the third, but its 46.2 percent showing in the fourth allowed the Norse to close in on the Flames.
Phoenix Facts
- Green Bay is on a six-game winning streak following an 81-48 downing of Oakland on Saturday (Jan. 20).
- The Phoenix's Jessica Lindstrom became Green Bay's all-time leading rebounder in the division I era with 13 rebounds. Lindstrom also notched 22 points for her ninth double-double of the season and was awarded Horizon League Player of the Week.
- Green Bay had its best showing of the season from the floor, shooting 59 percent, while holding Oakland to just 28 percent.
- The Phoenix run a shut-down defense, that the Flames will need to push hard against, as opponents average a mere 45.7 points per game.
- The Phoenix are first in the League in scoring defense with that mark, and are also first in three-point defense, keeping opponents to just 24 percent from beyond the arc. Green Bay is also first in the conference in assists with a 15.1 per game average.
