CHICAGO -- UIC will host the Cleveland State Vikings in a primetime showdown on Saturday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m. as the Flames look to win for the eighth consecutive time and the 11
th time in the 12 games since the calendar shifted to 2018.
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, UIC is encouraging all fans to #FindYourFlame on Saturday night at the Pavilion. Fans will have the opportunity to enter to win a seat upgrade to the UIC Love Seat, which will be positioned courtside near the Flames bench. Lovable UIC mascot Sparky D. Dragon will be passing out roses throughout the night and fans can stop by a Valentine's Day card-making station at the UIC Pavilion. On the court, the Flames have been breaking opponent hearts as of late by winning seven straight games following a 100-75 drubbing of Youngstown State on Thursday night. It is the program's longest winning streak since rattling off eight wins in a row during the non-conference portion of the 2012-13 campaign. UIC has won seven straight Horizon League games for the first time since winning 11 in a row against conference foes during the 2003-04 season, which ended with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Flames are 10-3 in Horizon League play and have assured themselves of the first winning record in conference play since that memorable 2003-04 campaign.
Cleveland State comes to Chicago having lost back-to-back contests since defeating first-place Wright State on Feb. 1. The Vikings are 6-20 overall in the first season under head coach
Dennis Felton and 3-10 in Horizon League play.

- UIC scored a season-high 100 points Thursday against Youngstown State in a 25-point victory over the Penguins.
- It was the first time the Flames hit the century mark since topping Milwaukee 105-100, in overtime, on Feb. 4, 2017.
- It marked the first game scoring at least 100 points in regulation of a League game since Jan. 9, 2003 vs. Milwaukee (102).
- Thursday's game marked the first time ever that UIC posted at least 100 points against Youngstown State.
- UIC has scored 100+ points 46 times in program history (42-4) and 27 times in the Division I era (25-2).
OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY
- In its 10 Horizon League victories, UIC is shooting 49.3 percent from the field.
- Against Green Bay (Jan. 10) and Milwaukee (Jan. 12), the Flames shot at least 50 percent in back-to-back games for the first time under Steve McClain, and the first time overall since Feb. 8 and 12, 2015 (at UDM, at WSU).
- UIC had its best performance of the year from the floor on Jan. 10 vs. Green Bay, shooting 58.2 percent in victory.
- The Flames made a season-high 34 field goals on Jan. 12 against Milwaukee. UIC sank 33 field goals at Cleveland State on Jan. 20, and again against Youngstown State on Feb. 8.
- UIC had 24 assists on 33 field goals Thursday.
INVOLVING EVERYONE
- In nine of UIC's 26 games this season every player has scored at least one point, most recently vs. Youngstown State on Feb. 8.
- The game at Cleveland State on Jan. 20 marked the only time this season that every player on both teams found the scoring column (9 UIC, 8 CSU).
- Head coach Steve McClain used nine players in eight of nine instances, while 10 players saw time on Feb. 4 for the Flames.
- In those, UIC's leading scorer has come off the bench three different times. Marcus Ottey led the team against Fort Wayne and at Loyola, while Godwin Boahen paced the squad most recently with 18 points at Cleveland State.
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
- Cleveland State enters Saturday's meeting with a record of 6-20 and a 3-10 mark in Horizon League play.
- The Vikings lead the Horizon League and rank 26th in the NCAA with 656 3-point attempts on the season. As a squad, CSU makes an average of 8.1 triples per game, which ranks fourth in the conference.
- Bobby Word ranks among the nation's top 100 in 3-point field goal tries with 161.
- Kenny Carpenter is the team's leading scorer with 12.8 points per game.
- Newcomer Tyree Appleby is one of the League's top freshman. He's averaging 11.2 points per game and a team-high 3.6 assists per contest. He scored a game-high 19 points with seven assists, six rebounds and three steals in the first meeting with UIC on Jan. 20.
