Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's swimming and diving team pulled out a 128-113 victory Saturday afternoon at the Physical Education Building, defeating conference foe Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The Flames dominated UWGB in the diving events, helping UIC pull out the victory. Charlie Rock won the one-meter dive with a score of 261.20 while teammate Mike Magee finished second with 230.55. The pair flip-flopped in the three-meter dive, with Magee winning the event (227.30) while Rock ended up second (225.55).
Senior Luis Bracamonte, swimming in his last home meet as a Flame, also did his part to help UIC to the victory. He won the 200-butterfly in a time of 1:54.56, finishing ahead of the second-place competitor by more than five seconds. Bracamonte also finished second in the 200-freestyle, missing first by just two one-hundredths of a second (1:46.48).
The meet was the last home meet for UIC this season. The Flames return to action next weekend, Jan. 21-22, at the Bill Ritter Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
