Men's Gymnastics to Host No. 1 Michigan

Jan. 26, 2000

Chicago, Ill. - UIC's streak of hosting nationally ranked opponents will continue this week as the No. 13 Flames host the top-ranked and defending national champion Michigan Wolverines on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Physical Education Building.

The Wolverines won last year's 1999 NCAA Championship, and head into Saturday's meet after posting a season-high score of 228.825 against Iowa last weekend. In that meet, the Wolverines scored a school-record 39.100 on the pommel horse. UIC was off last week.

Michigan will be the eighth Top 15 team to compete at UIC in January alone. Michigan has already traveled to the UIC campus once this season, competing in the Windy City Invitational where the Wolverines finished second with a score of 224.900. UIC's season high came in its season-opener against Illinois, tallying 219.650 points against the Illini.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for non-UIC students. All UIC students are admitted free of charge with their I-Card. For more information, call the UIC Ticket office at 312-413-UIC1.
