Peoria, Ill. - The men's tennis team had a lot of time to think about their 5-2 loss to end the fall season against Bradley.
The Flames exacted revenge in the form of a 5-2 win over the Braves at the Clubs at River City. With the win, UIC improves to 2-3 on the season.
"It was a team effort," UIC coach Chuck Cunningham said. "We need every point and we won them.
"This certainly shows how much we have improved since the fall."
The singles matches were a battle as five of the six showdowns went to a third set. UIC, however, came out on top as sophomore No. 2 Nick Bodmer, freshman No. 3 Nesar Nayak, junior No. 4 Wade Clark and senior No. 5 Jason Kerr all earned victories for the Flames.
Bodmer and Clark also paired up at No. 2 doubles to defeat Bret Martin and Alex White, 9-8 (5). Kerr and Desai were also victorious at No. 3 doubles with a 8-6 win over Jeff Book and Jamin Klotz.
"The guys came through big time," Cunningham said. "I am thoroughly pleased."
UIC will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana on Friday to take on Midwestern Collegiate Conference rival Butler at 2 PM.
