Indianapolis, Indiana - The men's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to IUPUI in Indianapolis on Thursday afternoon.
"It was a tough, close match that could have gone either way," men's tennis coach Chuck Cunningham said. "The guys played hard and I can't fault them for that.
"It was a great effort against a quality team."
Sophomore Nick Bodmer (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) extended his winning streak to four matches with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over IUPUI's Mike Sinish at No. 2 singles. Bodmer has also won five of his last six matches.
Junior Wade Clark (Farmington, Mich./Farmington) added the other victory for UIC as he picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win over IUPUI's Josh Becker at No. 4 singles.
UIC (5-14) will open up its Midwestern Collegiate Conference slate on Saturday as they will travel to Valparaiso, Indiana to square off with the Cleveland State Vikings at 11 AM.
