Hinsdale, Ill. - The University of Illinois at Chicago men's tennis team was defeated on Friday, 6-1, by the Dayton Flyers at the Hinsdale Racquet Club.
The lone bright spot for coach Hans Neufeld's team was junior Nick Bodmer.
Bodmer played a role in both UIC victories on the night, winning at No.1 singles 6-2, 6-4, while pairing with Ken Howrey for a win at No.1 doubles, 8-6.
With the win, Bodmer now has 41 career singles wins, which puts him just two wins shy of David Bautista in fourth-place on the UIC all-time singles victories list.
The Flyers then controlled the remainder of the match, winning out en route to the road victory.
The Flames will take the courts again on Wed., March 20, when the Flames spend spring break in Texas at Southern Methodist University.
