Chicago, Ill.- UIC senior gymnast Jonathan Joyce (Lisle, Ill./Naperville North) has qualified for 2003 Academic All-American Honors from the College Gymnastics Association, Head Men's Gymnastic's Coach "CJ" Johnson announced on Wednesday.

Joyce, who had an excellent 4.57 grade point average on a 5.00 scale, joins fellow Flames gymnast Michael Borge as an Academic All-American for 2003.

The UIC men's gymnastics team earned a combined grade point average of 3.99, good for fourth overall among all UIC sports teams last semester.

The UIC men's and women's gymnastics teams will be in action on Saturday, December 6th for the UIC Mixed Pairs event at 2 p.m.
