Chicago, Ill. - On February 24, Inside Gymnastics Magazine, one of the nation's top authorities on the sport of gymnastics, recognized UIC men's gymnast Neil Faustino as the NCAA Mideast Gymnast of the Week.

Faustino was on top of his game on February 22 versus downstate rival Illinois, as he won the all-around title with a score of 52.3. The Stockton, California native also won the rings competition with a 9.25, and equaled Illinois' Adam Pummer on vault with a score of 9.35 to tie for the title.

Illinois edged the Flames, 210.35-208.95.

UIC returns to action on Sunday, March 9 when they host Army at 1:00 p.m. at the UIC Physical Education Building.
