Chicago, Ill. - The UIC volleyball team (11-17, 7-5) will play its last two regular-season matches this weekend at the Flames Athletic Center before hosting the 2005 Horizon League Volleyball Championship November 17-20.
The Flames finished 1-1 after last weekend's league play, sweeping Wright State 3-0 and then falling to Butler in four games the following day.
The Flames are set to play second-place Cleveland State (17-8, 9-3) tonight at 7 pm and then battle Youngstown State (7-18, 0-12) in a matinee on Saturday, November 12th at 4 pm.
With CSU holding a second-place ranking in the league and UIC trailing the Viking by two matches, the Flames could tie Cleveland State at the conclusion of regular-season if UIC were to sweep on the weekend and the Vikings drop both contests.
At this point, the league's tiebreaker rules would decide on the seeds going into the tournament next week.
UIC will host the Horizon League Volleyball tournament next week with the first match beginning at 5 pm on Thursday, November 17th at the Flames Athletic Center.
