Chicago, Ill.- The UIC men's gymnastics team was recently recognized for its academic excellence as seven Flames were selected as 2007 All-American Scholar-Athletes by the College Gymnastics Association this week.

Tim Morrison was selected as First Team All-American Scholar-Athlete for the fourth consecutive year thanks to his 4.0 grade point average in 2006-07. Morrison was one of just six collegiate male gymnasts in the nation to achieve the honor the past four years.

Joining Morrison on the first team were fellow UIC student-athletes Nikolai Korepanov (3.821 GPA), Andrew Stover (3.821 GPA), Mark Seske (3.750 GPA) and Jeff Bill (3.500 GPA).

Earning Second Team All-American Scholar-Athlete accolades were Anthony May (3.482 GPA) and Jeff White (3.210 GPA).

Gymnasts with a 3.5 grade point average were eligible for the first team, while gymnasts with a grade point average between 3.2 and 3.499 qualified for the second team.

As a team the Flames placed 14th overall in the nation.
