Men's Gymnastics Takes Second At Army Triangular

West Point, N.Y. - Anthony May won his first still rings title of the year as the Flames placed second in a three-team battle against Army and Temple on Friday night.

UIC continued to improve it's scoring, posting its highest team score of the year with a 337.100. Temple won the meet edging UIC with a 338.850. Host Army came in third scoring a 331.700.

The Flames were led by May who took top honors as he won his first still rings title on the year with a season-best 14.950. May also took third on the pommel horse, capping another season-best score of 13.850.

Andrew Stover placed third in the all-around with a combined score of 83.750. Including his season-best all-around performance was a third place finish on the high bar notching a 14.050.

Other highlights on the evening included a season-best floor exercise score for Ned Kamimura (13.600) and a second place finish on still rings for Nikolai Korepanov (14.450).

UIC also managed to win two team crowns on the night. The Flames captured the team score on pommel horse (54.200) and still rings (57.500).

The UIC men's gymnastics team will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 24 as they take on Springfield College and William & Mary in Springfield, Mass. beginning at noon.
