Chicago, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team improved to 4-0 in Horizon League action with a 6-1 victory over Valparaiso on Wednesday afternoon at Flames Courts.
Even with a strong wind swirling about the courts, UIC kept pushing the intensity in doubles. After the first doubles match went to the Flames and the third to Valpo, the second slot, composed of Eric Fey and Sebastian Lystad, pulled out a UIC win, taking down Alex Lau and Tom Litscher, 9-7.
The Flames came into singles competition momentum as strong as the headwinds, taking the first five matches.
UIC will conclude regular season play this weekend, facing the defending Horizon League champions, Butler, on Friday at 2p.m., followed up with Cleveland State on Sunday at 1 p.m. Weather permitting, both matches are scheduled to be played at Flames Courts.
