EVANSTON, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team fell to Northwestern on Sunday afternoon, as the Wildcats swept the Flames for a 7-0 decision at the Combe Tennis Center.
The Flames kept it competitive in doubles, with the second pairing of Sebastian Lystad and Dave Robare taking Northwestern's Alex Sandborn and Joshua Graves to a tiebreaker, but ultimately lost the match, 8-7.
In singles action, UIC tried to keep up with their Big Ten opponent, but were unsuccessful on all fronts.
At the fourth singles position, Adriano Liccardo pushed NW's Sandborn to a third set, yet was unable to pull out a win, falling 6-3, 3-6, 10-5.
UIC looks to bounce back next Saturday when they travel to Normal, Ill. to take on Illinois State at 4 p.m.
