CHICAGO - While the UIC men's tennis team may not have played on Flames Courts as originally scheduled, the Flames got down to business, defeating visiting Dayton, 6-1 at Evergreen Racquet on Monday afternoon.
UIC picked up the doubles point off of wins at the first and third positions. The ranked duo of George Hudson and Sebastian Lystad defeated Michael Rohana and David Peyton, 8-1 at the top slot, while freshmen Dave Robare and Nate Kirk downed Bryce Warnock and Austin Wiegand, 8-6.
The Flames, now 9-6 overall on the season, took the second through sixth singles matches in two sets.
Senior Adriano Liccardo, playing at the fourth singles position, defeated Payton, 6-4, 6-0.
Today's match against Olivet Nazarene, originally scheduled at 6 p.m., has been moved to Monday, April 20 at 3 p.m. Until then, UIC starts off a four-match road trip, beginning with a visit to Valparaiso on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
