Men's Gymnastics Claims Two Event Victories At Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Veteran leadership guided the UIC men's gymnastics team in a road loss to Michigan at the Cliff Keen Arena on Saturday evening.

The Wolverines pulled away to a 339.250-328.850 victory over the Flames.

Nikolai Korepanov claimed victory on the still rings, besting the competition with a 14.300 score against fifth-ranked Michigan.

Nick Persino won the vault in 15.750, while fellow senior Andrew Stover placed second on the parallel bars (14.200) and fifth on the floor with a 14.000 performance.

Dave Mohr led a Flames contingent on the pommel horse, finishing third (13.800), followed by Matusez Rybarski (13.450) and Keith Lage (13.250) in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The Flames close out their road swing with a trip to Nebraska for a Sunday, February 21st quad meet against the Huskers, Ohio State and Air Force at 7 p.m.
