Stover, Voissem Honored With Weekly Honors

CHICAGO- UIC senior Andrew Stover (Fullerton, Calif./Troy H.S.) and freshman Kyle Voissem (West Allis, Wis./West Allis Central H.S.) were recognized with weekly honors for the period ending March 28 after their fine performances against No. 2 Stanford last Friday.

Stover was named the NCAA Division I Gymnast of the Week by Jerry Wright and the College Gymnastics Association. The Nissen-Emery Award finalist won the all-around against the Cardinal with a season-high 86.500, fueled by a runner-up finish on high bar (14.650) and a fourth-place vault that scored a 15.600 from the judges.

Voissem was named ECAC Rookie of the Week after placing second in the all-around with an 85.550. He led the Flames on floor exercise with a 15.000 and was second on the team with a 14.150 high bar tally.

The ECAC Rookie of the Week honor was the second of the season for Voissem.

The Flames, ranked 10th nationally, try to defend their ECAC title this Friday, April 2 in Williamsburg, Va.
