WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- On the heels of its successful defense of the ECAC-EIGL team title on Friday night, the 10th-ranked UIC men's gymnastics team wrapped up the 2010 ECAC Championships with three Flames winning individual event titles at William & Mary's Kaplan Arena on Saturday, April 3.

Senior Andrew Stover captured the high bar title with a 15.150, senior Nikolai Korepanov used an identical score to win the still rings championship, and junior David Mohr won the pommel crown by virtue of his 14.550 on the apparatus.

Top six finishers in each event were named All-East competitors, and that meant even more UIC student-athletes were leaving Williamsburg with honors. Out of 13 individual event finalists for the Flames, a total of eight UIC gymnasts garnered the All-East designation for their top-six showings.

In addition to UIC's three event champions, Nick Persino (3rd/high bar), Kyle Voissem (4th/parallel bars), Ned Kamimura (3rd/vault), and Neal Thompson (5th/rings) earned All-East designation. Stover also earned All-East on rings with a third-place finish.

After Saturday's competition, the Flames also cleaned up by taking all but one ECAC-EIGL postseason award.

Stover was named ECAC-EIGL Senior Gymnast of the Year, while Voissem was selected ECAC-EIGL Rookie of the Year. "CJ" Johnson was named ECAC-EIGL Coach of the Year, and Charley Nelson took home ECAC-EIGL Assistant Coach of the Year honors for the second straight season.

UIC won its secon consecutive ECAC-EIGL team championship on April 2. Stover led the way with his first ECAC-EIGL all-around title victory to become the first UIC gymnast to win a conference all-around championship since 2005.

The next order of business for the No. 10 Flames are the 2010 National Collegiate Men's Gymnastics Championships, held April 15-17 in West Point, N.Y.
