ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Kyle Voissem took top honors on the horizontal bar at Michigan as the UIC men's gymnastics team faced off against the Wolverines in Ann Arbor on Saturday afternoon.

Despite a season-best team performance on the vault and an overall hard-fought effort against the sixth-ranked squad in the nation, the Flames were defeated by a final tally of 341.900-322.700.

UIC would put up its finest rotation on the High bar, going 1-3-4 on the apparatus. Lead by Voissem's 14.150 score, Joseph Hodges (13.900) and Ned Kamimura (13.850) rounded out the top three finishers for the Flames in the final rotation.

Voissem would also be UIC's top finisher on the floor (14.000, second place), still rings (13.800, fifth place) and served as the meet's lone all-around competitor with a 83.500 score in his first AA competition of the season.

The competition at Michigan marked the third of three-straight road tests for the Flames. UIC will return home for a dual meet against Minnesota on Sunday, Feb. 27 in the Physical Education Building at 1 p.m.
