CHICAGO- UIC gymnast Jacob Thurber has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week, as it was announced by the conference on Wednesday.

The Knoxville, Tenn., freshman had a score of 13.450 on floor exercise, putting him in 20^th place at the Windy City Invitational on Jan. 18. He also produced a 14.500 on vault for 19^th . As a team, the Flames placed sixth with a final score of 395.500.

Thurber and the Flames head to Minneapolis to take on Minnesota Saturday, Jan. 25 at 7:00 p.m. (CT) at the Sports Pavilion.
