Men's Gymnastics Fall At Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich.- The UIC men's gymnastics team fell to Michigan Saturday night, 445.750-401.750 at the Cliff Keen Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.

"We came up short tonight but were certainly very solid in a lot of places," stated head coach Charley Nelson. "Jason Gaides had a great night in the all-around and we had solid performances all the way around."

Gaides had UIC's best score on floor (13.900) and rings (14.000). His score of 14.550 on vault put him in fifth place. Gaides' score of 82.800 earned him first in all-around competition.

Lukasz Adamczyk's score of 13.900 on pommel horse was good for fifth place.

Brett Valin was best for the Flames on parallel bars scoring 14.000.Joseph Hodges placed sixth on high bar with his score of 13.800.

"We have three more workouts before the conference meet and I am confident we are going to be able to go in there and fight amongst the ECAC rivals," added Nelson.The Flames prepare this week for the ECAC Conference Championships beginning March 28 in Annapolis, Md.
