Men's Gymnastics Travels To Illinois

CHICAGO- The UIC men's gymnastics team travels to Champaign, Ill., Saturday to face Illinois in a dual meet beginning at 4 p.m. (CT) at the H.E. Kenney Gym.

UIC's last competition came in back-to-back meets against Air Force last weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo. On Friday (Feb. 28), the Flames fell to the Falcons 423.800-400.500 and on Sunday (March 2) were defeated 439.700-407.650.

Brett Valin produced strong efforts when he finished first on vault with 14.550 on Friday and second with 14.750 on Sunday.

Jason Gaides tied for second on vault Sunday (14.750). Gaides took second on floor exercise Friday night with a final score of 14.450, while also placing second in all-around competition with 83.450.

Lukasz Adamczyk's score of 14.600 Sunday was good for third place on pommel horse.

The Flames have already faced the Fighting Illini twice this season, first in a dual meet Jan. 12, when UIC fell 413.100-393.450, and at the Windy City Invitational (Jan. 18), when Illinois tied for second with a final score of 436.050 and UIC finished in sixth place (395.500).
