Final Results LEMONT, Ill. - The UIC women's golf team dropped a tight dual match with Green Bay Saturday at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club. The Phoenix bettered the Flames by one shot (319-320) but UIC senior Elizabeth Curtiss won the event with a career-low round of 76.

Curtiss fired her seventh career round in the 70s and set a career-low by two shots. Her previous low round was 78 two weeks ago at the Green Bay Fall Invitational (Sept. 9). Curtiss led the field with four birdies and was -1 on the par 5s.

Curtiss follows Caitlan Smollen as the individual champion at the Green Bay dual match as Smollen won the 2013 event with a round of 76. As a team, the Flames improved by three shots from last year's event (L, 317-323).

Curtiss played the event as an individual and Kayla Stueland was UIC's best team finisher. Stueland carded a round of 79 to finish in a tie for second place. She had three birdies and was -2 on the par 5s. Stueland owns six rounds in the 70s during her UIC career, including a 79 earlier this month at the Chi-Town Classic (Sept. 1).

Seniors Ryann Gilley and Cherise Mangal tied for fifth place after a round of 80. Mangal's score is a season-low by three shots as she previously fired an 83 at the Chi-Town Classic (Sept. 1). Mangal led the field with 12 pars.

Junior Kelsey Jensen rounded out UIC's scoring in a tie for eighth place with a round of 81. She had two birdies and seven pars. Jensen had started her Flames career with six consecutive rounds in the 70s but still owns a team-low scoring average of 77.7.

UIC takes Sunday off before participating in the first annual Loyola Fall Invitational (Sept. 22-23) at Flossmoor Country Club. Six teams will play at the event including Detroit, Chicago State, Green Bay and St. Xavier. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday.
