KALAMAZOO- Mich. - The UIC men's tennis team (0-1) competed against Western Michigan Monday afternoon and the Flames fell to the Broncos, 6-1, at the West Hills Athletic Club.
UIC's lone singles victory came at the No. 6 slot as Max Cederkall defeated Andrew Cahn 6-3, 6-1, 10-7.
Teammate Carl Hedstrom competed tough at the first singles spot but ultimately fell to Matt Hamilton by a score of 6-2, 6-4. Elsewhere, Marclo Dib put up a fight against opponent Daniel Loebel but was defeated 7-5, 4-6, 10-6.
At No. 1 doubles, Granger matched up with Cole but fell to Steiner and Hamilton of Western Michigan. Competing at No. 2 doubles were Carl Hedstrom and Marcelo Dib who were defeated by Greiner and Loebel, 7-6 (7-3).
UIC returns to action on Friday (Jan. 22) when the Flames head across town to face DePaul at 7 p.m. CT.
