Men's Gymnastics Travels to Georgia

Feb. 12, 2016

CHICAGO- The UIC men's gymnastics team will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the 33rd annual Peach Tree Invitational this Saturday (Feb. 13) at 6:00 p.m. (CT) in the Georgia State University Sports Arena. The squad will be competing against William & Mary and Springfield, while Air Force, Army and Navy are to partake in their own tri-meet simultaneously.

The last time UIC encountered William & Mary and Springfield was at last year's conference championship. The Flames fell short with their final score of 409.435 to William & Mary's 410.900, while placing ahead of Springfield's 406.000.

UIC is coming off a season high score of 391.050 against Temple and Illinois last Saturday (Feb. 6). The Flames' top performances were Trent Jarrett who posted a team high on rings (14.150) and p-bars (13.700), Alexander Dumstorf who was team best on floor (14.400), and CJ Patton with his team-high score of 13.500 on the pommel horse.

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend. The team is really motivated coming off a disappointing loss last weekend, and they're ready for a great fight against some of our toughest conference opponents," said head coach Charley Nelson. "I'm also particularly excited to bring the UIC brand to Georgia for the first time in more than 30 years!"
