UIC v MSU Results 
EAST LANSING, Mich. - The UIC men's tennis team put up a fight against Michigan State (10-6) Saturday evening at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility, but ultimately fell to the Spartans by a score of 7-0.
"We competed well in both singles and doubles," said head coach Hans Neufeld. "Unfortunately, we were unable to dictate on the big points."
In singles, Carl Hedstrom faced Mac Roy in the No. 1 position, but fell 7-5, 6-4. Despite his best effort in the No. 2 spot, Christopher Cole dropped to Michael Dube, 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Andy Page competed in the No. 3 position against Jasper Koenen, falling short 7-5, 6-2.
At No. 4, Mitch Granger faced Billy Shisler, but was unable to come out on top with a final decision 7-6, 6-3, while freshman Marcelo Dib was defeated by Alex Kim at No. 5, 6-3, 6-4. To close out singles play, Max Cederkall was positioned at No. 6 against Ivan Rakic, but fell in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
Through doubles, Cole and Granger came up short in a 6-4 defeat against Roy and Colin Harvey at No.1. Hedstrom and Dib dropped their match against Dube and Kim, 5-4, at the No. 2 position. At No. 3, Cederkall and Page battled until the end but came up short to Koenen and Shisler, 6-2.
The Flames return to action next weekend when they take on Elmhurst Friday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. (CT).
