CHICAGO- Four members of the UIC men's gymnastics team will compete against the nation's top gymnasts at the 2016 NCAA Championship, hosted by Ohio State University. Competition is scheduled on Friday, April 15 through Saturday, April 16 at the St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

The Flames will be represented at the NCAAs with four gymnasts; Alexander Dumstorf and Jacob Thurber will compete in the floor exercise, while Trent Jarrett and Keith Kohn will be on rings.

"These guys are prepared," said head coach Charley Nelson. "Now all they can do is hit their sets, and then wait for the dust to settle to see where they stand."

The national qualifier will be held on April 15 prior to finals competitions, with two sessions set to begin at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. CST. Each session holds six of the 12 qualifying teams, in addition to five all-around and five event qualifiers.

Three teams and the top three all-around competitors not on one of the qualifying teams, plus the top three individuals on each event not already qualifies on a team or as an all-around competitor, will advance from each pre-qualifying session to the finals session. Final competition will take place on Saturday, April 16 at 6 p.m. CST.

UIC enters competition following the ECAC Championships, where the team finished sixth with a final score of 387.800. In individual competition, Kohn took fourth place on the rings with his score of 14.60, meanwhile, Jarrett followed suit with a score of 13.800, finishing in 11th.
