Men's Gymnastics Rounds Out ECAC Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.- The UIC men's gymnastics team rounded out the ECAC Championships Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena, hosted by William & Mary. The Flames placed sixth with a final score of 387.800. The US Military Academy and the US Naval Academy tied for first in conference competition with a score of 423.400.

Trent Jarrett and Keith Kohn led the Flames on several events, starting with rings, where Jarrett's score of 14.050 was good for seventh place, qualifying him for event finals. Kohn followed suit with his score of 13.750 which was good for tenth place, allowing him to qualify for event finals alongside his teammate.

Jarrett was also a team-best on parallel bars after earning a score of 13.400, posting competitive marks on vault (13.900) and floor (13.000) as well. Kohn led the squad on pommel horse with his 12.900 mark.

Junior Jacob Thurber tallied team-high scores on floor (14.000) and vault (14.050), while teammate Christopher Root finished best on high bar with a score of 13.550 for the Flames.

Individual competition took place on Sunday afternoon where Kohn took fourth place with a 14.600, and Jarrett finished in 11th with a 13.800.

The Flames will now prepare for the NCAA Championships, set for April 15-16 at Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
