On Day 2 of the ITA Midwest Regionals, UIC added to its numbers in the main singles draw, and advanced one doubles team to the second round.

Kasper Parlklo won his third-round match in the singles qualifying bracket.  That garnered him a spot in the main draw.  He and Johan Hedstrom will represent UIC as the singles competition continues Saturday.  The pair also teamed up to give the Flames a doubles win in the opening round.

Singles Results

• Parlklo defeated Clark Bilinovich of Cleveland State, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4, to advance to the main draw.
• Niko Wasilewicz also competed in the final round of qualifying.  He forced a third set, where Notre Dame's Matthew Halpin pulled out the win, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.

Doubles Results

• Johan Hedstrom and Kasper Parlklo took care of Meyers and San Andres from Marquette, 8-5.  They ran into #9 seed Fu and Nefve of Notre Dame in the second round.  The Fighting Irish duo were victorious by an 8-5 score.
• William Wale and Niko Wasilewicz fell to Ohio State's Seibert and Wareti, 8-3.
• Luiz Dos Santos and Pelle Strandberg were eliminated by Huber and Parts from Wisconsin, 8-1.

• The regional tournament will continue Saturday with the first two rounds of main draw singles play.
• Parlklo and Johan Hedstrom, who qualified for the main draw on the basis of his UTR rating, will be in action starting at 7 am.
