Flames Ready to Take On DePaul

Match in Lincoln Park Features Another City Rival

After suffering a heartbreaking loss on Sunday against Chicago State, UIC will return to the courts Saturday afternoon looking to rebound against another intracity rival.  The Flames will take on DePaul at Lakeshore Sport and Fitness starting at 3:00 pm.

Flames to Watch Last Time Out
  • The Flames took a 3-0 lead on Chicago State, but the Cougars won the last four points to take the match.
  • The deciding contest came at #2 singles, where Hedstrom fought in a very close match but came out on the wrong end of a 7-6 (8), 6-7 (4), 6-4 score.
  • Two of the other three Cougar singles wins came in three-set matches.
Scouting DePaul
  • The Blue Demons enter the weekend with a 2-2 record, sporting wins over Horizon League foe Green Bay and, in their most recent match, Georgetown.
  • Vito Tonejc leads the team with three singles wins, all on the #2 court.
  • DePaul has one win in each of the three doubles flights on the season.  Tonejc and Boris Spanjaard have played together at #1 twice.
  • DePaul will entertain Creighton Friday evening.
