UIC came oh so close to winning the doubles point, but after DePaul pulled it out, the Blue Demons took three top-of-the-lineup singles wins to clinch the match in their 6-1 win over the Flames in Lincoln Park Saturday afternoon.
Kailash Panchapakesan won the #6 singles contest to give UIC its point.

- The top singles matches were first to finish. Parlklo was a 1-and-1 victim at #3.
- Wasilewicz was closer to his opponent in the #1 flight, but fell 6-3, 6-2.
- At #2, Hedstrom pushed for a tie breaking third set. He was unable to get there in a 6-3, 7-5 loss.
- With the team win in hand, DePaul went on to eke out a 7-5, 7-6 (8) win over Strandberg on the #4 court.
- Panchapakesan finished very strong, closing out his opponent 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 at #6. He is on a two-match winning streak.
- Nguyen battled to the end in a lengthy tiebreaker. The last points didn't go his way in the 7-6, 5-7, 10-7 showdown at #5.

- The Flames will have a week off before returning to action in their home opener.
