Flames Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play

Team Splits Doubleheader With IUPUI, Butler

UIC improved to 3-0 in Horizon League play with a 4-3 win over IUPUI Saturday morning.  Later, the Flames traveled across Indianapolis to tangle with Butler, who emerged with a 4-2 victory.

"Doubles was solid again today," head coach Hans Neufeld said after his squad won the doubles point in both matches.  "We got a Swedish sweep this morning.  Anthony [Nguyen] bounced back from a tough loss this morning with a dominating effort against Butler.  Johan [Hedstrom] again played an outstanding singles match but came up short tonight."

The Flames won four of the first five points against IUPUI before the Jaguars collected two late singles wins.  In the nightcap, Neufeld shuffled his lineups, debuting a new doubles team and slotting two players into the singles lineup for the first time in several matches.
