Box Score Two Flames won their singles matches against outside competition at the River Forest Collegiate Invitational Sunday.  Luiz Dos Santos picked up his first win in UIC colors and Anthony Nguyen earned a third place finish.  Elsewhere, Pelle Strandberg competed for a championship on the final day of the clay court competition.

"Our guys competed all weekend against a tough field that included several teams we'll see again this season," Hans Neufeld said.  "We're looking forward to having the entire team compete at Western Michigan and then qualifying as many as possible to the ITA Regionals."

Singles Results

• William Wale dropped a 6-2, 6-0 decision to Green Bay's Ivan Radomirovic in the seventh place match of the #1 draw.
• Kasper Parlklo won set two and forced a super tiebreaker, which went Kris Ortega's (Northern Illinois) way, 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.  Parlklo took fourth place in the #2 draw.
• Luiz Dos Santos earned a win in a walkover, 6-1, 1-0 (ret) over St. Louis' JP McKenzie.  The newcomer finished seventh in the #3 bracket.
• After Alvaro de la Fuente replaced a player in the #4 draw, he was matched with Niko Wasilewicz in the seventh place match.  Wasilewicz had a 5-3 lead in the first set before retiring.
• Pelle Strandberg started strong but was unable to close out Rodrigo Crespo, 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.  The Western Michigan entrant took the #5 championship.
• Anthony Nguyen played his way to a 6-3, 6-4 win over Pol Virgili Blanco of Youngstown State in the third place match in the #6 draw.
