Rematch with Northwestern Awaits Flames

Wildcats Emerged Victorious in First Match

UIC will face Northwestern for the second time in nine days on Sunday in Evanston.  The Wildcats came away with a 4-0 win last weekend, part of a four-match skid the Flames will be attempting to break.

Northwestern has risen to #23 in the national rankings.  First serve from the Combe Tennis Center will be at 5:30.  A live stream and live scoring will be available.

Last Time Out Flames to Watch
  • Strandberg and Parlklo are undefeated since being paired together in the #1 doubles flight.
  • Dos Santos climbed to within one match of the .500 mark with his singles win at Marquette.
  • Johan Hedstrom has been UIC's #2 singles player the last two matches.  Nonetheless, he faced off against Northwestern's top rated and nationally-ranked singles player, Dominik Stary, as the Wildcats shuffled their lineup in their second match of the day last Saturday.
Scouting the Wildcats
  • Northwestern has been idle since topping the Flames on a day that also saw them defeat then-#7 Columbia.
  • Stary is now the 70th ranked singles player in the nation.
  • A busy weekend for the Wildcats is on tap.  They will face Illinois Saturday, and they will play Notre Dame on Sunday right before squaring off with the Flames.
