UIC fell to Northwestern, 4-0 Sunday evening, in a match that was closer than the score indicates.

The 23^rd-ranked Wildcats clinched the first four points of the match, resulting in the termination of the rest of the action in unfinished matches.  It was on those courts that the Flames more than held their own and even had the lead in two matches.

With Horizon League play looming at the end of the month, UIC will face Cardinal Stritch in a final non-conference tuneup on Friday.

Doubles Results

• Johan Hedstrom and William Wale ran into a buzzsaw on the #2 court in a 6-1 loss.
• Kasper Parlklo and Pelle Strandberg went down by a 6-3 score at #1.
• Niko Wasilewicz and Anthony Nguyen were reunited on the #3 court.  Playing together for the first time since February 15, they were in a 5-all deadlock when play was halted.

Singles Results

• Parlklo, playing on the #1 court, went down quickly by a love-and-one final.
• Strandberg came through with wins in a few games but could not gain consistent footing in a 6-2, 6-2 loss.
• Northwestern closed out the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Nguyen in the #4 flight.
• Hedstrom rallied from a first set loss and was locked in a battle with Dominik Stary, who is ranked 70^th in the nation.  Their match stood at 6-2, 4-5 when it was ended.
• Wasilewicz was on serve in the second set at #5, leading 7-5, 2-3 at the point of interruption.
• Luiz Dos Santos was just a couple games from victory at #6.  He led 6-1, 4-1 when it was called.
