The UIC swimming and diving team will be back in the pool Saturday for a dual meet at Milwaukee. Following last week's season opener against a pair of Big Ten teams, the Flames will face a fellow Horizon League opponent for the first time this year.
Several Flames turned in multiple strong performances a week ago against Northwestern and Illinois.
Liam Davis finished second in the 500 free and the 200 fly, and added a third place finish in the 1000 free. He also anchored the 200 free relay, in which the Flames finished second. Josh Dellorto paced the team in three events. Taira Juronis had UIC's best finish in both breaststroke races, while Lilly Culp did the same in the butterfly events.
On the diving side, Cydney Liebenberg and
Felix Lafortune each had a second place and a third place finish.
Milwaukee, like the Flames, has one dual meet under their belt. Their men lost to IUPUI last weekend, while the Panther women eked out an 11-point win over the Jaguars. UIC swam against Milwaukee twice last season. The Panthers won the men's and women's meets in Milwaukee, but the Flames got revenge with a pair of wins in Chicago later in the year.
Saturday's meet will start at noon.
