Pair of Matches at NKU Will Close Road Schedule

Just Four Total Matches Remain in Regular Season

4/9/2021 1:11:00 PM

UIC will close out the road portion of the 2021 schedule with a pair of matches at Northern Kentucky.

The Flames are searching for their first conference win of the season.  With just four matches remaining, every outing will be important as they battle for a tournament spot.  The top four teams will qualify for the conference championship.

UIC has won three straight over the Norse.  That streak includes a 4-1 win in the quarterfinal round of the 2019 Horizon League tournament.

First serve will be at 1:30 Central on Saturday and Sunday.

Flames to Watch
  • Casey Schrader picked up a love-and-three singles win in the team's last outing against Youngstown State.
  • Pelle Strandberg has a team high three singles wins on the season.  He has two singles wins and one doubles victory over NKU in his career.
  • Anthony Nguyen and Gustavo Schwebel have won three doubles sets on the campaign.
Scouting the Norse
  • Northern Kentucky enters the weekend at 6-1 overall, and 2-0 in conference play.
  • Trevor Ball and Andrew Niehaus are tied for the team lead with five singles wins each.  Both players have accumulated their wins across three flights.
  • Ball and Emilien Burnel have a 3-1 record at #1 doubles.
