Box Score CHICAGO - The UIC men's tennis team (1-4) fell to the DePaul Blue Demons (4-2), 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Flames looked competitive in doubles against DePaul, with the team of
Pelle Strandberg and
Francesco Tacconi playing the Blue Demons tight.
Ammar Wazir and
Kevin Kruzel's doubles play was also strong but were unable to pull out the victory.
"Doubles is improving, good effort from Kevin and Ammar. Francesco and Pelle fell early but battled back in a tough loss," said head coach
Hans Neufeld.
Artem Iermolov was the lone Flame to win a set in today's match, forcing a third set against DePaul. The sophomore played a competitive third set but ultimately fell.Â
The Flames will take the week to get ready for their next match in Evanston, Ill. against Northwestern on Sunday, Feb. 6.
