UIC men's tennis (1-6) travels to Omaha, Neb., to take on the Creighton Bluejays (2-4) on Friday, Feb. 18, at noon. Creighton has most recently competed against Kansas Wesleyan University, sweeping the Yotes 7-0. Creighton finished with a 6-7 record last season. The Bluejays defeated the Flames 7-0 in their last match on Feb. 14, 2021.
The Flames most recently fell to Cardinal Stritch, 5-2. The Flames won their first doubles point of the season behind the impressive team efforts from
Ammar Wazir and
Kevin Kruzel; and the team of
Gustavo Schwebel and
Daan Bank.
The Flames are also scheduled to face the University of Nebraska-Omaha (3-6) on Saturday, Feb. 19, at noon. The Mavericks most recently defeated Marquette, 5-2. UNO also defeated Horizon League rival Youngstown State, 4-3. The Mavericks finished with a 13-17 record on the season and made it to the Summit League Championship Final, falling 4-0 to top-seeded Denver.
The first match against the Creighton Bluejays is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 18 at noon. Match two is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 19, at noon as well.
