Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. - UIC men's tennis (1-9) fell to the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame (8-3), 5-0 on Sunday evening. The Flames played the Fighting Irish tough but were unable to grab victories over Notre Dame. The Flames' next match will be against Chicago State on Wednesday, Mar. 2.
The doubles team of
Gustavo Schwebel and
Daan Bank played tough, winning three sets, but fell to Notre Dame. The team of
Ammar Wazir and
Kevin Kruzel fell 6-3 against the Fighting Irish, despite a good effort.Â
The Flames struggled in singles against the talent of Notre Dame.
Francesco Tacconi was the lone Flame to win a set against the Fighting Irish on Sunday evening.
Pelle Strandberg put up an impressive effort in the No. 1 singles match but fell 6-2, 5-2 to
Axel Nefve, who is undefeated this season.
The Flames will look to readjust and learn from tonight's matches heading into Wednesday's match against Chicago State.Â
