Box Score URBANA, Ill. - UIC men's tennis (1-11) fell 4-0 to the Fighting Illini (4-7) on Saturday afternoon. UIC put up a strong effort against Illinois in their match, despite the outcome. UIC will move forward and take on another Big Ten rival, Northwestern, on Saturday, Mar. 12.

The Flames struggled in doubles against the Illini in the early goings of the day. The team of Luiz Dos Santos and Francesco Tacconi lost 5-2, despite a strong effort. The freshman team of Kevin Kruzel and Ammar Wazir put up a strong effort against Illinois but fell 6-2. Both freshmen have shown plenty of promise in their first season.

In singles, UIC competed well against some stout competition. Wazir competed well in his match, going 6-3, 3-3 against his opponent. "Good effort in singles. Wazir played with confidence and competed well," said head coach Hans Neufeld.

The Flames will next face the Northwestern Wildcats for the second time this season. The match is scheduled for Saturday, Mar. 12, at 5:30 in Evanston, Ill.
