CHICAGO – Fresh off its first Horizon League victory of the season last time out, the UIC men's tennis team will look to carry its momentum into its final roadtrip of the regular season this weekend. The Flames will first take on Cleveland State on Friday, April 15, before wrapping up the trip on Saturday at Youngstown State.

UIC picked up its first conference win of the year last Saturday, taking down IUPUI by a 5-2 margin. After falling behind 1-0 following the doubles point, IUPUI built the lead up to 2-0 before Pelle Standberg collected a straight-sets victory at No. 2 singles.

Ammar Wazir (1-6, 6-3, 6-1) and Kevin Kruzel (6-2, 3-6, 7-6(5)) won at the No. 6 and 5 singles positions, respectively, before Francesco Tacconi clinched the match with a 6-3, 7-6(1) victory at No. 3 singles. With the match in hand, Anthony Nguyen added another point to the Flames' tally with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles to close out the 5-2 victory.

The Flames will be taking on the top two teams in the Horizon League standings this weekend when they take on the Vikings and Penguins. Cleveland State sits in second place with a 4-1 record while Youngstown State is unbeaten in Horizon League play at a perfect 5-0 record.

First serve in Cleveland on Friday is set for 11 a.m. (CT), while the trip will conclude with a 10 a.m. (CT) start against Youngstown on Saturday.
