CHICAGO - The UIC swimming and diving teams will return to competition this weekend after being off for nearly two months for training. The Flames closed out the fall portion of the schedule in a three-day House of Champions invitational in November, where the women's team finished 2nd, while the men placed 5th overall.
The Flames will travel to southern Indiana on Saturday to take on Evansville, Missouri State, and Bellarmine in a triple-dual meet. The Purple Aces and Bears are Valley members on the women's side, and, like UIC, MAC affiliate members on the men's side.

Next, the Flames will host Chicago Jan. 20, and visit Illinois Wesleyan on the 27th to close the swimming portion of the regular season. The diving team will host the annual UIC Diving Invitational on Feb. 4. The women's team will descend upon Iowa City for the Valley Championships, starting Feb. 15. The men will have a little longer to train for their conference championship, as the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships will start March 1 in Oxford, Ohio.
