Swimming and Diving Returns Home Thursday

UIC hosts Davenport Thursday at 4 p.m. at Flames Natatorium

CHICAGO (Nov. 1, 2023) – The UIC Swimming and Diving team returns home to Flames Natatorium Thursday afternoon, as the Flames host Davenport at 4 p.m. in its final home competition of the calendar year.

SCOUTING DAVENPORT
  • This is the first time Davenport and UIC will compete against each other. The Panthers' women's team has been competing since 2018-19, while the men's program started competing in 2020-21. Both programs compete at the Division II level.
  • Davenport's women's team has a 6-4 record so far this season, including a win against Division I program Eastern Illinois.
  • The men's team sport a 3-5 record in 2023-24. The Panthers are coming off a 154-76 win against Ashland in a tri-meet with Wayne State last weekend.
LAST MEET OUT: MILWAUKEE
  • Senior Ben Ramminger (Deforest, Wis./Deforest Area) had a strong showing against Milwaukee last week, with wins in the 50 breast (26.62), 100 breast (58.03) and the 200 individual medley (1:55.07).
  • Senior Liam Davis finished first in the 1,000 free with a 9:43.51 finish. Jack Mills finished in third with a time of 9:57.48.
  • Senior Izabella Del Rosario (South Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) earned her first event wins of the season last Friday, with victories in the 50 (25.91) and 100 Butterfly (57.96). She was also a member of two second-place relay teams against the Panthers.
  • Freshman Molly Kroeger (Easton, Md./Easton) recorded wins in the 1000 free (10:37.84) and 500 free (5:11.63).
  • Harrison Nolan (Riverside, Ill./Kentucky) continues to remain dominant on the diving board, winning both the three-meter (352.13 points) and one-meter (322.13 points) diving events. The sophomore has won five of the six events he has competed in this season for the Flames.
  • Sophomore Kerry-Leigh Morrison (Gauteng, South Africa/St. Mary's) won her third consecutive three-meter diving board event against the Panthers with 281.03 points. She also placed second with 246.23 points on the one-meter board.
