CHICAGO (Jan. 31, 2024) – For the second consecutive week and the fifth time this season, UIC sophomore Harrison Nolan (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) was recognized as the Mid-American Conference Diver of the Week. Nolan posted three event wins and set two school records in a busy weekend at Flames Natatorium.

"It was very exciting this past weekend, hosting two home events. I added in two three-meter dives both days. I struggled with some inconsistencies on Friday, but I was able to pull through with  some consistency on Saturday to put down a list of dives that I was happy with.  I am looking forward to the same deal this weekend, another two home events so I am hoping to put down some more good dives."

Nolan kicked off his award-winning weekend last Friday (Jan. 26) with another win on the one-meter board (339.40 points) against Evansville and Missouri State at Flames Natatorium. He also finished second in the three-meter event at that same meet with 343.65 points.

Less than 12 hours later, Nolan swept both diving events at the UIC Invitational, also at Flames Natatorium. Nolan started the invitational with a record-breaking performance on the three-meter board with 408.45 points. Not only did the sophomore surpass Felix LaFortune's 408.15 points back in 2022, but Nolan also set a new Flames Natatorium record for the three-meter competition.

With his fifth honor of the season, Nolan has the most weekly conference awards by a UIC student-athlete during the 2023-24 academic year. He has now competed in 15 different individual events this season, winning 12 of them.

The UIC swimming and diving teams are back in the pool at 2 p.m. (CT) Friday, playing host to Valparaiso and Southern Illinois at Flames Natatorium. Admission is free to the public and fans are encouraged to follow live results on Meet Mobile, downloadable to both Apple and Android phones.
