UIC Battles in Close Season Opener Against Northwestern

UIC Men's Tennis Falls to Northwestern

CHICAGO (Jan. 16, 2025) – The UIC men's tennis team opened their 2025 season with a hard-fought match against Northwestern on Friday, narrowly falling 4-3 to the nationally ranked Wildcats.

The Flames came out strong in doubles play, securing the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead. Eldin Nokic delivered a standout performance in singles, earning a hard-fought victory to keep UIC competitive throughout the match.

"It was an extremely close match that had a couple of points decide the winner, and today it went to Northwestern," said Head Coach Jovan Parlic. "We will recover and get ready for Indy on Sunday."

Despite the close loss, the Flames showed resilience and determination against a challenging opponent. They'll look to carry the momentum into their next match against the University of Indianapolis on Sunday.
