EVANSVILLE, Ind. – UIC men's and women's cross country competed at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships on Friday, October 31, hosted by the University of Evansville. The men's team earned a runner-up finish in the 8K, while the women placed seventh overall in the 6,000m race.

Top Finishers
Men
- Daniel Chavez led the Flames with a 3rd-place finish in 24:23.78.
- Alex Bacci placed 11th in 24:51.79.
- Theodore Cunningham finished 15th in 24:58.12.
- Zachary Close came in 16th with a time of 25:01.90.
- Angel Solis rounded out the scoring five in 29th place at 25:27.45.
UIC's top five runners all placed within the top 30, securing a team score of 74 points, just behind Bradley (49 points) and ahead of Belmont (89 points).
Historical Note:
The second-place finish by the men's team ties the best-ever team finish at a conference meet by either gender in program history.
- Men: 2nd in Horizon League in 2006, 2012, and 2016
- Women: 2nd in Horizon League in 2012, 2013, and 2015.
Women
The women's team totaled 209 points, placing seventh overall in a competitive field led by Bradley.
